A metal sliding lead sleeve protects the lead as you write, automatically adjusting as the lead extends or retracts, and fully retracting when the pencil is not in use. The front barrel and tip are made of metal parts, resulting in a stable, low-center-of-gravity design. The front barrel has a slightly rounded shape that fits comfortably in the hand. The rear barrel is made as slim as possible, giving it a smart and sophisticated look.

How Kuru Toga is different - with a conventional mechanical pencil, the lead wears unevenly with use, forming a slanted, wedge-shaped tip.
